The Baatara Gorge Waterfall, also known as Balou' Bala'a, is a breathtaking natural wonder. Although locals had long known about it, French explorer Henri Coiffait "discovered" it in 1952, and it wasn’t fully mapped until the 1980s, when it was named the "Cave of Three Bridges." The gorge features three natural, free-standing bridges, allowing adventurous visitors to explore its unique landscape. Each spring, the waterfall dramatically plunges 255 meters into a deep sinkhole. Formed by millions of years of limestone erosion, geologists estimate it to be around 160 million years old—dating back to the time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
We have outlined and provided pictures of other places that you may like to visit along the way. Note that this is a very long trip, so skip things if you would like to make it shorter and leave very early if you decide to do everything. Also, if you have extra time in Tannourine, have a look at Google maps, as there are a few things to do there.
