Flight: You will need to book a flight to Beirut airport; this is the only airport in the country.
Taxis from the airport: Outside of the airport taxis might try and take more money than they should. If you mind this, then we would advise one of the following:
Taxi app: you can use the airport's Wi-Fi to get an Uber, Bolt or Kareem from the airport (the Wi-fi might not be reliable). Note that the wifi only works inside the airport and for an hour.
Book a taxi in advance with Charlie taxi in advance. Link here or Allo Taxi Lebanon; you can download the app or do it online.
Note that there is almost no public transport in Lebanon. There are some public buses.
Car: You can rent a car in Lebanon, but be careful as driving in Lebanon is a bit crazy. But if you want to be flexible and do long trips this is definitely the best option. Note that due to the electricity issues, there are no traffic lights in some areas, so be very careful at crossings.
App taxi companies in Beirut: Bolt and Uber
Taxi companies: Allo Taxi or Charlie Taxi
Tour companies: TBC we will add here tour companies
Lebanon is a small country, and Beirut is kind of in the middle. Meaning that if you stay in Beirut, you can do day trips to many places (some are long days). Alternatively, you can stay in different places that you visit.
Click here to see information about staying in Beirut. We recommend staying in the Gemmayze area as it's vibrant and in the middle of the city (shown on the Staying in Beirut page).
Before booking Airbnb, check the hours of electricity and, if you need it, the internet speed: check the listing or message the host/hotel.
If you would like to stay in multiple places, then have a look at the Places To Visit and Stay page and see where you might go.
NOTE THAT JULY - SEPTEMBER AND CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR PERIODS ARE PEAK SEASONS, SO BOOKING IN ADVANCE IS A MUST. PLACES GET BOOKED WAY IN ADVANCE.
